Located 50 kilometres south of Montréal and only 20 kilometres from the U.S. border, Napierville Refineries Inc. has excellent access to major highway and rail connections. In operation since 1960, the Napierville facility was expanded in 1985 and again in 2001. These expansions provide additional refining capacity to meet the growing demand for various grades of naphthalene, both in North America and other world markets.
As Canada’s only producer and refiner of naphthalene, the Napierville facility has the ability to distill and crystallize both coal tar and petrochemical distillates to make both crude and refined naphthalene using a proprietary and flexible process.
In addition to the production of naphthalene, the Napierville facility produces and exports para-dichlorobenzene, ortho-dichlorobenzene and meta-dichlorobenzene mixtures.
The Napierville Refineries Inc. site is ISO 9001:2008 certified and was the first of Recochem Inc.’s locations to achieve CCPA Responsible Care® Verification.
