Xylene
Xylene is a strong solvent derived from coal tar, wood tar and sometimes petroleum. It is widely used within the chemical industry as a solvent for cleaning and thinning.
Xylene can be used as a:
- Cleaner and degreaser
- Cleaner for paint sprayers and tools
- Solvent for specialty coatings
Do-it-yourself enthusiasts use xylene when repairing fibreglass repair tools and resin mixes and other projects where fibreglass and epoxies are used.
Use caution when handling and storing Xylene because it is flammable. Recochem Xylene has a low odour quality and fumes from spills may not be easily detected. Use only in a well ventilated area.
