DIGGERS™ Timber Cleaner (Concentrated Oxalic Acid)

Outdoor products

DIGGERS™ Timber Cleaner (Concentrated Oxalic Acid) cleans new timber and restores old greying timber prior to oiling, staining and painting.

Typical Uses:

  • Timber cleaning / preparation / restoration
  • Timber bleaching

Features:

  • Concentrated formula – makes 5 litres
  • Effective, strong and fast acting
  • Reduces the need for sanding on wooden finishes

Application:

  1. Prepare the area – Remove excess dirt and debris from the timber surface. Protect surrounding areas such as metal fittings, paintwork, or plants with plastic sheeting or by wetting them before use.
  2. Dilute the solution – Wearing gloves and eye protection, mix 1 part DIGGERS™ Timber Cleaner with 4 parts water in a plastic container.
  3. Apply to timber – Wet the timber surface with clean water. Liberally scrub the diluted solution onto the timber using a stiff scrubbing brush. Allow the solution to penetrate for 10–20 minutes.
  4. Rinse thoroughly – Rinse the timber well with fresh water to remove all cleaner residues. Failure to rinse completely may cause discolouration, particularly under clear finishes.
  5. Allow to dry – Leave the timber to dry for 24–48 hours before painting, staining, or oiling. To check dryness, tape a small piece of plastic wrap to the timber surface. If moisture forms underneath within 2 hours, allow additional drying time and retest.

NOTE: Protect surrounding metal surfaces, paintwork and plants with plastic sheeting or wet first and hose off immediately after use. Diggers Timber Cleaner must be thoroughly removed to avoid possible discolouration under clear finishes. If Diggers Timber Cleaner is not completely removed it may result in timber discolouration. Test on an inconspicuous area before full application to timber for suitability. To test if timber is dry cover the timber with a small piece of plastic wrap. Seal off on the edges with tape. If droplets appear within 2 hours then the timber is not completely dry. Repeat every few days until no droplets appear.

Safety:
Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye / face protection when using this product.
